Description
An aged black man with a long, thick beard and locs dominates the portrait, cradling his hair with both hands. The length of his hair represents his strong spiritual connection and the wisdom he acquired from a long life. The abstract green background symbolizes the cycle of birth, death, and rebirth- immortality. Immortality is obtained by the mark left on the people that outlive their teacher/elder and the wisdom that is passed down to the next generation.
